Cheryl Knauer of Parkville, Md., has been named director of media relations at McDaniel College, Westminster, Md. She is responsible for the development and implementation of the college’s ongoing media relations program at the local, regional, and national levels. Knauer previously worked as a senior account executive at Nevins & Associates, a boutique public relations and marketing firm in Hunt Valley, Md. Prior to Nevins & Associates, she served as the media relations director at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and was a public relations associate at the Baltimore Office of Promotion and The Arts. Knauer received a bachelor’s degree in communication, concentration in public relations, and minors in French and women’s studies, from La Salle University in Philadelphia.
