A search of the vehicle Gelston drove to the Summit Avenue home, a rented blue Ford Escape registered in Tennessee, revealed a waist pack filled with ammunition in various calibers, a military field pack containing a machete, knife, flashlight and military-style goggles, a white club with the words "white power stick" written on it in black paint, several blood-covered shooting targets, and a JC Higgins Model 31 .22 caliber rifle, among other items, according to a police report.
