Woman Who Allegedly Hit Baltimore City Officers Had Prior Charges
Alycia Marie Hoffman, 25, faces narcotics possession charges as well traffic offenses
The woman that allegedly hit two Baltimore City police officers with a car on Wednesday, previously faced theft charges as a result of being a passenger in a car during a fatal accident in July 2011.
Alycia Marie Hoffman, 25, was arrested and charged with drug possession and several traffic offenses after she allegedly struck two police officers with a car and then led a chase into Baltimore County, according to police.
Hoffman, of Bel Air, after allegedly striking the officers, led police on a chase through Northeast Baltimore, Towson, Parkville and Carney before county police cars boxed her in and forced her to a stop.
The officers who were struck by the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to Baltimore police officials.
Hoffman was riding in a car in July 2011 with Nicole Ashley Albers when they were involved in an accident that killed 64-year-old Carolyn Dicocco in Bel Air.
Following the accident Hoffman was charged with two counts of theft less than $100, as a result of an Apirl 2011 incident where she and Albers allegedly stole a "Tower" stereo, a portable speaker case, a digital camera case, hair dye, hair reviver, a fingertip massager and headphones from a Bel Air CVS.

I saw a dozen cop cars flying by Immaculate Heart of Mary, way over the speed limit, and almost crash at the intersection. Disheartening to find out that this was for non life threatening injuries. High speed chases are for last resort, not just because some City cop had a fender bender! Goucher Blvd is not the place to be heroes....

You're right...let's just let everyone that tries to run a cop over with their car get away.....

You can be shot and have non life threatening injuries. Guess we shouldn't chase shooters either huh?

It was not a fender bender... they were hit while standing near the suspect's car and almost run over.

The news said the car had FOP tags. Channel 11 showed a helicopter view of the police boxing the car - and stopping the car. Amazing considering the coordination of the Police vehicles to stop the car.

they will say "Im not chasing Im just following " ( I hear it on the scanner) and to me that begs the question how can you follow them with out doing the speed thay are doing ? FAST! perhaps its a legal thing,,,,,,,btw Sam, Gary all you guys,,,, i have heard then say "break it off" and discontinue the chase (on a minor traffic thing) but Im going along with you guys,,,,,,,,,,,Ya just cant let 'em assault police with a vehicle and not chase them down

Shouldn't they can be able to catch the bad guys without a high speed chase - maybe a combination of helicopter, tag number, and detective work?

Hey Mauricio....you have no idea what you are talking about. The suspect in the chase tried to RUN over two police officers, hitting one of them in the process. If you think that the police weren't going to chase her until the wheels came off then you're out of your mind. Until you go to the police academy and get some training, keep your mouth shut about things you know nothing about. Those police officers involved in that chase yesterday are braver and more heroic than you'll ever be.

Use your full name if you really want to comment...these B. Co. Cops were flying by a SCHOOL IN SESSION, so I have nothing to apologize for as the second cop car almost t boned a woman in a van w children at the intersection. Fast speed chases are reckless, and can hurt lots of people. If a cop ran into my wife or children as result of a high speed chase, the County would be liable, and YOU would pay. Cops have no right to speed around the County when they are not specifically involved in crime.

I have represented cops on their foibles, so I understand their jobs & concerns...good people generally, but they don't get to go 65 plus mph around school grounds during school day. If cameras were available at IHM, tix would have been issued for a lot of money. And cops would have called me to rep them...30 mph over speed limit is pretty serious:-)

Check out her Case Search - she's done something very similar before. Not to mention that she has 99 (YES NINETY NINE) various traffic, theft, drug possession charges since 2003. Trust me, she's not a stranger to the law (even with her poor grandfather being a retired Harco Deputy). Do a google on her - she was in the news on July 21, 2011 when she was the passenger in a car that had just left the meth clinic in Harford County. They hit my cousin's car head on and killed his wife instantly. KARMA and JUSTICE... that's what we' should be talking about.

@maurico. People like you make me sick. I guess Ishould turn to a life of crime and then just go seventy miles a. hour down putty hill and no one should chase me down. What if that dumb criminal would have run down one of your children on her way by? you'd be the first one crying how the cops didn't do enough to stop her. Thank you to the officers that apprehended this POS. I'm glad you didn't listen to some idiot who didn't want you to pursue criminals who are breaking the speed limit. It's amazing to me how stupid some people can be. If cops didn't Chase down speeding criminals what kind of precedent would that set? Oh Btw, not interested in a response, your ignorance speaks for itself.

@ Holton... School WAS in session at the time. I know, because I was working when those cops flew by and I get off when it's time for me to get my dtr from the bus stop. Sorry NANAB.....I now see that you mentioned the fatal car crash. I am very sorry for your cousin's loss. Even more reason to pray for Hoffman's 'jail cell justice'. I know someone will whining and crying, it's not her fault....wha, wha, wha, she had a lousy childhood.....I don't feel sorry for her one ounce. She's grown, knows the law, and had the option to choose compassion, but chose NOT to......many times over! Now she'll answer for ALL of it.

I had just stepped outside for a smoke after waking up from working night shift and I counted 15 marked cruisers and 3 SUV's with the dash and grill lights FLY past my house. Everyone of them doing probably 90mph. I've never seen, in person, police driving as fast as they were. The chase ended maybe 1/4 mile from my house, I could see the cluster of police cars from the end of my sidewalk. I don't have any problem with the police chasing at those speeds even with all the traffic on Joppa road because there isn't any other alternative except to let the criminal escape. even after seeing someone crash into the firehouse tavern a few years back during a chase I still don't think the cops should have called off the chase. On a side note, she should be locked up for assault after I was forced to look at her mug shot.
