How did you celebrate Veterans Day?

Members of the Carney Improvement Association and Parkville's American Legion Post 183 gathered at the  memorial outside Carney Elementary School Sunday afternoon to commemorate the sacrifices of area veterans.

The group was joined by Fifth District Councilman David Marks and state Sen. Kathy Klausmeier.

Carney Improvement Association president, Meg O'Hare, described the ceremony as "touching, and a great way to show children and grandchildren how important the sacrifices are that were made during WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan wars."

Do you know a veteran? How did you celebrate veterans day? Tell us in the comments.
