Couple Assaulted at Beltway Movies 6
The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.
A man and a woman were assaulted as they watched a movie at Beltway Movies 6 on Belair Road last Thursday.
According to a police report, the victims were the only customers in a theater where they were watching Captain America when a man entered the theater briefly then left.
Soon a person who appeared to be the same man, wearing a mask, entered the theater and assaulted the woman, punching her in the head while trying to take her purse. The male victim struggled with the assailant and in the struggle, received a cut to his neck.
Both victims were transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center to be treated for their injuries.
Police found a black folding knife with a brass knuckle-style handle near the entrance to the theater where the attack occurred and believe that to be the weapon used in the assult.
After interviewing a witness in the theater, police learned that a man matching the description of the attacker had fled through the shopping center and up a nearby hill. A search of the area using a K-9 unit was not successful in locating a suspect but did turn up the mask used during the attack.
Based upon descriptions given by the victims and the witness, police are searching for a black male in his 20s, approximately 6-foot and thin with brown eyes and black hair—shaved short on the sides and bushy on top. The suspect was last seen wearing a blue and green windbreaker and blue jeans.
