Goodwill Store Struck Again in Armed Robbery
The robbery is the third at a Goodwill in several days.
An armed robbery of a Goodwill store on Joppa Road Wednesday is the latest in a string of such incidents in the county in the last week.
Police were called to the store in the 1700 block of East Joppa Road at 6:43 p.m. Wednesday on a report of an armed robbery.
The same store was robbed last Friday morning. In that case, police say a man entered through the rear door and held up the manager with a handgun. The man stole $2,046 from the store safe and registers before running out the store's back door. That evening, a man armed with a BB gun attempted to rob the Cockeysville store.
"We believe these are going to be connected, but we're still investigating," police spokesman Officer Shawn Vinson said.
The store closed early following the robbery while police investigated the incident.

I was on my way to band practice and was passed by no less than NINE police cruisers! An impressive response by our police force!

It is scary for the people who live off of Joppa Rd.This is the second time in less then a week that our neighborhood has been inundated with police and a helicopter flying over our homes with a spotlight. And as we get closer to the holidays desperate people will stop at nothing to get money...

i know!... i live on Joppa as well and it's crazy. i know what you mean about the helicopters... a few weeks ago one of them shined it's spotlight right through our bedroom window! it was pretty scary. i am glad that we have such great police response time in our neighbourhood, though. if these jerks keep knocking off stores in this area they will eventually get caught, because at my house it only takes the cops about 60 seconds to arrive when called. people need to keep their eyes open and help the police out. someone who robs goodwill stores deserves to get locked up for a long time. it reminds me of when those assholes were robbing churches in dundalk a few hears back... does anyone remember that?

It's just part of the creeping fungus from Baltimore City that is taking over these formerly nice areas in Towson, Timonium, and Cockeysville. Soon it will be like Owings Mills, Reisterstown, and Pikesville around here. Watch out, Perry Hall. You're next!

Yeah like the fungus below. Oh, my bad, these two are from Baltimore County, Parkville to be exact. Need anymore examples? (...rolleyes...)
(Scott Lewis Hundertmark entered the Parkville police precinct and claimed that he was forced against his will to drive the vehicle involved in the robbery, police said. Hundertmark, 26, of the 9100 block of Orbitan Road in Parkville, later admitted that he participated in the robbery as the driver, police said. He was charged with attempted armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, according to the press release.
On Monday, police announced they had arrested 30-year-old Damien Dmitruk of the 6800 block Old Harford Road for allegedly entering the store armed with a knife. He has been charged with armed robbery, Armacost said Monday afternoon.)

So right. The city doesn't hold the monopoly on thugs. I recently had jury duty where the defendant was a person from Parkton, who allegedly broke into a house in he area with a group of other neighborhood thugs.

As a resident of Cockeysville, was a bit surprised to hear of the crime rate here ~ muggings, robberies, apartments broken into, etc. No area is exempt in todays' society, from crime. It is, unfortunately, "a sign of the times" ~ especially so around holiday periods.

I agree with Bart & Robert. Those good 'ol days are long gone. CRIME IS EVERYWHERE! And we always see an increase of crime around the holidays. It's unfortunate, but nowadays we all need to be especially alert! Get involved & be the eyes & ears for the police department! They need our help! By doing so, we are helping ourselves and our neighbors.
