January at Parkville-Carney Library
Check out news and events from your local branch
Everyone wants to stay home and read while the weather is so cold! The top six books at the Parkville library so far this month are:
1. Deliver Us From Evil - David Baldacci
2. Killing Edge – Heather Graham
3. Live to Tell – Lisa Gardner
4. Naruto, Vol. 48
5. Private – James Patterson
6. The Search – Nora Roberts
Mostly thrillers – Parkville Library patrons are thrilled to be reading!! If you have read Beneath the Lion’s Gaze by Maaza Mengiste, join your fellow readers for the Readers of the Round Table discussion group on Tuesday, January 18 at 10AM.
For kids, the winter reading program started a few weeks ago, but you can still join! If you read a book in the branch or check out a book, you get a snowflake sticker to add to the mural downstairs. The librarians hope to have the mural filled up with snow by the end of February.
If you have younger children, you can bring them to preschool storytime every Thursday at 9:30AM or the Icicle Ball on Tuesday, January 25 at 10:30AM. If you have a baby, try Baby Boosters storytime on Monday, January 24 at 9:30AM.
Also, if you need help with business plan development, marketing, loan preparation or minority business enterprise assistance for your small business, call the Parkville Library to schedule an appointment with an advisor from the Small Business Resource Center.
Advisors come to the branch once a month to meet with small business owners in search of assistance.
