Man Arrested, Allegedly Broke Windows At Businesses 'For Attention'
The series of burglaries occurred overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday.
A Cub Hill man has been arrested and charged in a series of break-ins at businesses in Parkville and Fullerton and reportedly told officers that he had committed the crimes "for attention."
Stephen Michael Sprecher, 18, of the unit block of Strabane Court was arrested and charged with three counts each of second- and fourth-degree burglary, three counts of malicious destruction of property, making a false statement to a police officer and drug possession. He has been released from the Baltimore County Detention Center on $10,000 bond, according to court records.
Around 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 22, police received an alarm call for a break-in at Christian Solider at 9002 Harford Rd., according to a police report.
Upon arrival, officers found Sprecher standing outside the business and interviewed him about the crime, according to the report.
At the time, Sprecher told officers that he saw three black males drive up in a car and throw a brick through the window before driving off, according to a police report.
In the early morning hours of Jan. 23, police again received an alarm call, this time from Linover Liquors at 7698 Belair Road, in Belair Beltway Plaza shopping center, according to a police report.
When they arrived, police found broken windows at both the liquor store and neighboring ExpressCare at 7700 Belair Road and again found Sprecher standing nearby.
Sprecher was arrested based on the similarity between the two crimes and his proximity to both, the report states.
When the arresting officer asked Sprecher why he had committed the crimes, he told the officer, "For attention," the report states.

Not Cool - this guy has some obvious issues. NOW - I hope the police are able to retrieve any weapons he has. If he does live out in Parkton I would bet there are some guns out there.

to overleagirl ... you are pushing the limits of standards and pratices .. AND .. as for the jump the bridge reference ..i'm sure the poster didn't really mean that .. just the same as you really mean "go screw yourself" .. since that's impossible ... LOL ..
obviously our window smasher has some "issues" ..the worst being his smashing the window at Christian Soldier.. that could have lead to some really nasty effects if the cops would have been slow in their responce ...

I happen to know this young man.... He has a drug problem and needs some serious help.... Wish he would have stayed in jail, would have done him some good..... Yes, what is did was more than wrong,But telling him to jump off a bridge is a lil extreme...
