Man Arrested, Charged In Perring Plaza Purse Snatching

A group of witnesses held the alleged robber until police arrived to arrest him.

A man has been arrested in connection with a purse snatching in Perring Plaza Shopping Center Sunday afternoon.

Brian Scott Rogers, 34, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with robbery, second-degree assault and theft. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

On Dec. 2, an 86-year-old woman was opening the door to her vehicle, parked in the lot at Perring Plaza Shopping Center, when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her purse, according to a police report.

When the woman would not release the purse, the man began to drag her by it, then threw her down in the travel lane of the parking lot.

Three bystanders saw the man take off with the woman's purse and chased him. One of the bystanders caught up with the robber near the Home Depot store and threw him to the ground and held him until police arrived, the report said.

What a P.O.S. bastard! I'm so happy he was caught thanks to fellow community neighbors that jumped into action. Very heroic of them to take that personal risk. These scumbags need to pay dearly in this life and the after life for their poor actions.

I couldnt agree better myself.. What a Piece of Trash!!! Although, the woman should have just given her purse, and let him go, so she didnt get hurt, but I understand, older people dont want to give up what they have, because they have so very little, Kudos to the Bystanders, Id love to see their names posted. I would have done the same, but so often so many just dont want to get involved. =)

Nice to hear a story where bystanders helped out, too often you hear about people standing by during a crime. Thank you to those who helped the woman, glad he was caught and no one hurt.
