Parkville-Overlea Area Schools Exceed State, County Averages
Maryland State Assessment scores for area schools have been tallied—learn the scores for your child's school.
Statewide assessment scores may have been a mixed bag at the county level where, on average, Baltimore County elementary schools performed above statewide averages but middle schools performed below statewide averages.
But here in Parkville-Overlea, the news is mostly all positive.
At the elementary school level, nearly every school on average exceeded both the State averages for reading and math (88.2 percent and 87.7 percent of students showing proficiency, respectively) and the county averages (90.7 percent and 90.8 percent, respectively).

At the middle school level where Baltimore County seemed to lag behind the State averages on the whole, Parkville-Overlea area schools also excelled. Both Parkville and Pine Grove Middle Schools beat the statewide average of 82.1 percent of students proficient in reading and 76.2 percent of students proficient in math at each grade level.

Why is Halstead Academy not listed? My children attend Halstead and we are extremely proud of the gains being made there!
