Parkville's New Used Book Shop To Open Tuesday
The Parkville Bookworm will open at 8116A Harford Road on Tuesday morning; a grand opening event is planned for the coming weekend.
The newest business to come to Parkville's Harford Road corridor is one that readers have asked for in the past.
The Parkville Bookworm, a used book store, will open at 8116A Harford Road (near the Post Office and VFW Hall) on Feb. 26 at 10 a.m.
Owner Melissa Eisenmeier, 25, is a life-long Parkville resident and is passionate about her product.
"I love books and I decided that I wanted to sell them, I love Parkville and I live in Parkville and I decided I wanted to put a bookstore near where I live," she said.
The Parkville Bookworm will deal strictly in used books at this point, Eisenmeier said. She will be buying books both for cash and trade. The store will be open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and from 12-6 p.m. Sunday.
Eisenmeier also hosts a blog on Patch where she provides book recommendations.
A grand opening event is planned for this weekend from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Mar. 2.
"Tea, coffee, and food will be available. One lucky person will win a $25 gift card," according to a post on the business' Facebook page.

I will definitely try to get to your opening. I used to go all the way to Cockeysville to a used book store, but it closed up. I will enjoy having one much closer to home. Good luck with your new venture!

Very nice to hear of a bookstore coming to Parkville. I lead a book group for our members here at the Parkville Family Center Y and I'll let them know about the new Bookworm store. Leslie

Does anyone know what type of books the new store is accepting? I have medical and nursing texts that I would like to sell.
Thanks Leslie and Sherri, great idea.

Sharon, how old are the nursing and medical texts? We might take them if they're fairly recent.
We also take general fiction, biographies/memoirs, sci-fi, books about pets and animals, mysteries, history books for the general public(not textbooks) and religious fiction(Jewish and Christian, mainly). We desperately need kids' books, young adult, sci-fi, and nonfiction books.
