Today is the first day back to school for many kids and maybe the first day of school ever for many others.

If I could find it, I'd surely post a photo from my first day as a Pine Grove Elementary student. It was taken with film, watermarked with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in the lower right-hand corner—next to a much younger me is the girl I'd marry some 20 years later.

On Facebook, Nicole Davis was the first to respond to my call for first day photos—in the gallery above are her boys Connor and Carter who are starting 8th grade at Parkville Middle and 5th grade at Villa Cresta, respectively.
