Power Outages To Close 16 Schools Thursday

The Baltimore County school system reports progress on affected schools.

 

Following power outages caused by Friday's thunderstorms, 16 Baltimore County public schools will remain closed on Thursday.

All activities at the affected schools are canceled, according to a Baltimore County Public Schools news release. Staff who traditionally work at the affected schools during this time are reporting to alternate locations.

Immediately after the storm, 52 schools suffered outages, resulting in closures on Monday and Tuesday. Since then, school system officials said, crews have restored power to 36 schools.

The following schools are closed Thursday:

Campfield Early Childhood Center

Fort Garrison Elementary   

Franklin High

Halstead Academy

Hebbville Elementary    

Milbrook Elementary

Pikesville High

Powhatan Elementary 

Rodgers Forge Elementary 

Sudbrook Magnet Middle

Towson High 

Victory Villa Elementary

Winand Elementary

Windsor Mill Middle

Winfield Elementary

Woodholme Elementary
