Readers' Choice: Parkville-Overlea's Best Sandwich

Vote for Parkville-Overlea's best sandwich shop.

This week's Readers' Choice poll brings us to a topic near and dear to my heart: food.

We know that Parkville-Overlea is home to a great many awesome sandwich shops, ideal for beating the noontime munchies — the question remains: which of them offers the very best bite?

What makes a great sandwich for you? Is it fresh bread or maybe quality meats and cheeses? Make your opinion know by participating in this week's poll and don't delay since the poll will only be open until Friday at 9 a.m.

If your favorite spot got left off our list, please let us know in the comments. And be sure to comment, as well, about which sandwich is the best in town.

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results, positive comments below and in reviews on each of the businesses' Patch Places directory listings (you can reach them by clicking on the businesses above).

Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

If your business is listed here, learn how to claim your listing for free on Essex-Middle River Patch by reading this article.

We will announce the winner at noon Friday.

Many places in the area have great sandwiches, wings, etc.. Toscana's has one of my all time favorites, the Porchetta, to go along with the Godfather. Mueller's has the best raw beef and the salty Smithfield ham. But for the best quality overall I have to go with my regular hang out, and that is Jerry D's. They have a great hot roast beef, turkey and even meatloaf. Their grilled chicken sandwich is the biggest piece of chicken I've ever seen. But the best deal in town is their half price burgers on Thursday nights, can't beat it!!

No one anywhere has a better Italian coldcut then Mastellones. Hands down the best. it's always consistently delicious too which is rare. I've had alot of good sandwiches around town, but you go back and it's not as good the next time or rushed, sloppy, etc. Mastellones always makes their subs perfect every time. I think they make their own Mozzerella too and even the bread and rolls I believe are made fresh.
