Can you guess where in the greater Parkville-Overlea area this photo was taken?

Our photo of Parkville-Overlea history this week comes courtesy of the Facebook group "You Know You're From Parkville, Md When..." and it's a good one.

Dating back 50 years, this photo shows a section of a now-highly-trafficked roadway that connects Parkville to Overlea and points beyond.

Can you guess where it was taken and what it shows? There's a hint written onto the photo, which was originally posted to Facebook by user Nancy Ellen-Roche Rhoda.

"You know you're from Parkville and that you're old if you watched them build ... between ... and ... back in 1962," she wrote in her original posting.

References to what is being built and where have been removed.

Share your best guess and your memories of Parkville-Overlea in the comments!

I think it is the Baltimore Beltway. I remember my Dad and I standing on a bridge near or on Belair Road and watching the bulldozers clear the land. My Dad was always there when something "historical" was under construction.

Is it from the bridge at Putty Hill looking towards Belair Road?

I agree with Jill and Sherri. Its 695 looking from putty hill or a neighbors back yard. The picture shown with the comment at top I wonder if it was Harry Barnes house. My father worked with him for years and we all went hunting together.

Pre-Beltway, Meyer Seed Co. was on Belair Rd. where the bridge is now. We would go there to get seeds in the spring. They moved to Perry Hall and closed that store several years ago. They still had their main store in Fells Point for many years, but I don't know if it's still there.
