Woman Carjacked At Gunpoint Outside AutoZone

The armed carjacking occurred Thursday night.

An armed carjacker remains on the loose after he pointed a gun at a woman and stole her vehicle Thursday night.

The woman, who was having car trouble, entered the AutoZone store in the 8300 block of Harford Road to buy an item, according to Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman Cpl. Cathleen Batton.

When the woman left the store around 8:56 p.m. and got into her car, a man approached and opened the driver's side door. He pointed a handgun at the woman, and forced her out of the vehicle, Batton said.

The man then got into the 2009 Dodge Charger and took off southbound on Harford Road. As he neared the intersection of Harford Road and Linwood Avenue, the carjacker hit a parked motorcycle and bailed out of the vehicle, according to Batton.

Police responded and searched for the man with air and K9 units but were unable to locate him, Batton said.

The victim was transported to the Greater Baltimore Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, Batton said.

Batton said the carjacker is described as a male, approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build.

Anyone with information about the carjacking is asked to contact the Baltimore County Police Department at 410-307-2020.

anytime the news leave the race of a suspect out you can bet that he's black. You see, its easier to pretend than to tell the truth

I know the women that this happened to, and he was wearing a mask and gloves and all black. She could see slightly around his eyes, and yes he was black.

The cops won't say he was black but if he was a white guy they would put it right out there, county spokeswoman Batten ought to grow a set of-------- and tell the total story. Everytime you look their is a new PIO, must be a popular job to take a Corporal off the street to talk to the news people.
