It took nearly a year but County Executive Kevin Kamenetz has found a replacement for one Baltimore County Revenue Authority board member.

Roland Campbell, a Pikesville resident, has been appointed to the board. If appointed, he would replace outgoing member Joseph Blair, whose term ended last June.

The appointment leaves one more opening on the board. Les Pittler, a Timonium attorney, announced two weeks ago that he was leaving the board after 14 years.

If confirmed by the County Council, Campbell would become the first African-American on the board since William Jews, the former Blue Cross Blue Shield president and chief executive officer left the board in 2006.

Campbell president and chief executive officer of ROC Realty Group. He is also the former chairman of the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Pikesville Chamber of Commerce.

Campbell also served on the Governor's Commission on Small Business, the Bon Secours Foundation, the Home Builders Association of Maryland, and the Baltimore County Workforce Development Council. Campbell is a graduate of the Realtor's Institute. He earned a certificate from the Allan Berman Real Estate Institute of Johns Hopkins University, according to a biography released by the county.

The council could consider Campbell's appointment as early as this evening—it is not yet listed on the agenda.

If confirmed tonight, Campbell could attend his first authority board meeting on Tuesday morning. The five-member board is scheduled for a special meeting at 8 a.m.
