Carney Improvement Association To Meet With Marks Wednesday

The neighborhood association will meet with the fifth district councilman at Carney Elementary School.

The Carney Improvement Association will host its March meeting Wednesday night at Carney Elementary School.

Fifth District Councilman David Marks will be on hand to answer questions from community members and share updates from the County Council on neighborhood issues, according to an email from group president Meg O'Hare.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Mar. 20 at the school, 3131 E. Joppa Road.

The group recently lowered membership dues, O'Hare wrote, and is looking for new members.

"We really need your support-your membership gives you a voice in your community! All we need is your name, address, phone # and most important your email so we can keep you up to date on Carney and Baltimore County and MD State issues/decisions that may impact your day-to-day life and wallet," she wrote. "Ask your neighbors and friends to join, too."

Additionally, the group has scheduled a dumpster day late next month; the event will be held at Carney Elementary School from 8 a.m. until noon April 27. Residents will be able to drop off everything from yard waste to dishwashers, but should leave any hazardous materials (paint, antifreeze, chemicals, etc.) at home.
