Carney Residents: The CIA Wants You!

The Carney Improvement Association is holding its 2014 membership drive.

If you live in Carney, ring in the new year by making a commitment to join the Carney Improvement Association.

Association President Meg O'Hare invites all community members to join the group and get involved in advocating for Carney and its residents.

"We advocate for Carney with Baltimore County, Maryland state and federal elected representatives on issues that impact our Carney community," she wrote in an email to community members.

The group sponsors three annual events with the Carney Elementary School PTA— the Carney Community Cleanup (set for April 26 this year), the Carney Veterans Day Ceremony and the Visit with Santa and community Christmas tree lighting.

The association meets at Carney Elementary School, 3131 E. Joppa Road, in September, November, January, March and May of each year, according to O'Hare.

Individual membership costs $5 and businesses and organizations can join for $10.
