During his eight years at Hiss they have enjoyed a renewed enthusiasm for the Lord and for serving their community both locally and globally.  Pastor Mark is very relational on personal and spiritual levels and connects easily with people of all ages.  He willingly and joyfully shares his many talents.  With his technical skills he brought Hiss into the 21st Century, greatly expanding the ministry capabilities of the church.  The complexion of the church has become more culturally diverse.  Participation in Small Groups and Study has increased.

Pastor Mark has been appointed by Bishop John Schol of the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church to the position on Staff as a Guide to the Western Region.  Doug Chenoweth,
Chairperson of SPRC at Hiss notes, His dedication has shined down on us since that first day. God’s mission for Mark has been witnessed by all of us as he has dedicated his life to God and for eight years also to us. He can take pride in how well he has done bringing many closer to God. Thank you seems so meager of a word to express gratitude to an individual who has given so much to so many of us. But, Mark is such a humble man that I am confident “Thank you for eight wonderful years” will be well received. God Bless you, Mark, as you
journey onward.”
