GET OUT! Laughing, Hooping and Rocking Out in Parkville/Overlea This Weekend

Give one of these neighborhood events a try as March rolls in like a lion on this last weekend in February.

 Where did your week go?  As you begin to make your weekend plans, check out these local hotspots of fun, friends, music and fitness. 

1.  Laughs and Libations

Where/When: Sully's Comedy Cellar is at 9306 Harford Road, Parkville.  Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26.  Check out sullyscomedycellar.com for a full schedule of shows.  Showtimes are Fridays at 9pm, Saturdays at 8:30.  Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtimes.

Why Go: Laughter is the best medicine for winter woes, and Sully’s is the only comedy club in the Parkville area.

2.  Hula Hoops aren’t just for kids!

Hooping Class, with Stephanie Connell and Boomtown Hoops. 

Where/When:  Overlea Center, 6809 Belair Rd., Baltimore,  Friday, February 25, 8 - 10 p.m.

Why Go: Make good on your New Year’s resolution and check out the fitness groups forming at the former Overlea Caterers every weekend. Join Boomtown Hoops for this fun and fit Hooping Class, where you’ll learn different hooping dances and maneuvers (hoops will be provided, or bring your own).  Learn to use the hoop for exercise, dance and fun! 

Pricing: Donation—$20 recommended

3.  Be a Winner!

St. Michael School Sponsors Vera Bradley® and Longaberger® Bingo

Gym doors open and light fare available at 6:30 p.m. Games begin at 7:30 p.m. Contact the Development Office for ticket information at csibiski@smoverlea.org or call 410-665-1054, x125.

Where/When: 10 Willow Ave in Overlea, February 25, 7:30 p.m.  

Why Go: Come and connect with neighbors and friends while contributing to fundraising efforts of our neighborhood church.

Pricing: Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door (if not sold out). Pay only $12 each when you buy four or more tickets. (Discounted tickets must be ordered and paid for by Feb. 23.) 

4. Rock Out!

Holy Steel Show

Where/When: Overlea Station, 6900 Belair Road.  Saturday, February 26.

Why Go: Enjoy $10 pitcher and grub—domestic pitcher and 10 wings or a personal pizza—and see two of Baltimore’s best rock bands. 

Pricing: $5 cover charge
