Grab and Go Kids Planner: Family-Centered Fun This Week

Catch a play at CCBC, have fun with Diego on The Avenue, dance in Annapolis, and drop in at the Parkville Library with the kids this week.

Spring fun abounds around town, with family events that range from educational to theatrical, naturalist to music and movement. Explore these activities happening this week.

Fun With Language at the Baltimore County Public Library in Parkville

At  9:30 a.m.,  language pathologists will work with preschool children ages 2 to 5 on language skills. Children must be accompanied at all times.

Story Time for Preschoolers
The   hosts a book reading every Thursday for kids ages 2 to 5 years old at 9:30 a.m. Hear stories and sing songs with your little ones.

Meet Diego at The Avenue
From 2 to 4 p.m., there will be a Wildlife Adventures display and a story time with Diego on The Avenue in White Marsh. Take photos and play games with this favorite children's character.

Cinderella at CCBC-Dundalk
presents Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Show times in the John E. Ravekes Theatre in Building K are as follows: 8 p.m. on May 13, 14, 20 and 21; 3 p.m. on May 15 and 22. Tickets range from $14 for children and students, $19 for seniors, and $22 for general admission.

The Children's Playhouse of Maryland presents The Sound of Music
. -Essex hosts this timeless classic at 1 p.m. on May 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22; 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on May 9; and 4 p.m. on May 15. The show is held in the Lecture Hall in Building J. Admission is $10. CCBC students, faculty and staff pay $8.

Spring Family Campout at Marshy Point
Spend the evening with the night owls, under the stars, at this family campout at Marshy Point Nature Center. Bring your own camping gear; s’mores await. A $2 registration is required.

Baby Loves Disco
In Annapolis this week, the Baby Loves Disco tour bus arrives with a superhero-themed dance and play party for your wee ones. Celebrating everyone's inner superhero and special powers at the Loews Annapolis Hotel, between 2-5 p.m., for kids from six months to 7 years, this is a great event for parents to share their love of music and dancing. Family Fun Day at McFadden Art Glass
See live glassblowing and sample food and drink at the Glass Grill. Kids age 5 and up can design a glass pendant, flower, ornament or paperweight for free. With free parking and adjacent public playground, McFadden Art Glass at 6800 Eastern Avenue hosts this event from 1-4 p.m. Reservations are required.
