New Year's Babies: Three Minutes Separate D.C. Twins Born in Different Years

Twins Lorraine Yaleni Begazo and Brandon Ferdinando Begazo were born on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in Washington, D.C., according to ABCNews.com.

It's probably safe to say that twin babies share a lot of things, but one set born in Washington, D.C., this week will have the distinction of having not only separate birthdays but also separate birth years.

Yaleni Santos Tohalino's babies were born three minutes apart at Washington Hospital Center on New Year's Eve. Daughter Lorraine Yaleni Begazo was born at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday, and son Brandon Ferdinando Begazo at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, reported ABCNews.com

You read that right—Lorraine's birthday is Dec. 31, 2013, and her twin brother Brandon's is Jan. 1, 2014. 

Older sister Lorraine weighed in at 6 pounds, 4.9 ounces and younger brother Brandon measured a wee 5 pounds, 10.4 ounces.
