Since a winter storm watch was issued Friday, Maryland could be getting its first December snowfall this weekend. The weather in Parkville is expected to be cloudy through mid-morning Saturday, followed by a gradual clearing and high temperatures near 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Saturday's overnight forecast is dry and cloudy, but temperatures will plummet to the 20s.

On Sunday, NWS is calling for a 90 percent chance of precipitation and highs around 35 degrees. Snow is likely before 1 p.m., when it will change to rain or sleet. A quarter-inch to a half-inch of precipitation is possible.

NWS is calling for a "significant weather event" Sunday night and into Monday morning, saying snow and ice accumulations are likely. Freezing rain or sleet are expected before 9 p.m., with sleet or snow expected between 9 p.m. 1 a.m., at which point it should switch over to rain. As much as three-quarters of an inch of precipitation may fall Sunday night. Temperatures will be around 32 degrees.
