Parkville-Overlea Area May Be Home to a New Millionaire

A "second-tier" winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold at John's Elmwood tavern on Kenwood Avenue.

There may be a new millionaire living in the Parkville-Overlea-Fullerton area, according to Maryland lottery officials.

The lottery agency is looking for the buyer of a second-tier winning Powerball ticket sold for the Nov. 16 drawing of the multi-state game.

The ticket worth $1 million was sold at John's Elmwood Tavern at 4423 Kenwood Ave., according to the lottery agency's website. The owner of the tavern will receive a $2,500 agent bonus.

Saturday's Powerball jackpot was worth $130 million and one winning ticket was sold in New York.

In addition to the ticket sold at the Elmwood, four second-tier tickets, which match all five "white ball" numbers but not the Powerball number, were sold in Florida, Iowa, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Each is worth $1 million.

Lottery winners have 182 to claim their prizes in person at the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency headquarters, 1800 Washington Blvd, according to the lottery website.
