About 300 people turned out for a holiday tree lighting in Parkville this past weekend.
The event was orchestrated by Parkville's Main Street Committee—member and Greater Parkville Community Council president Ruth Baisden passed along these photos (and a video) from the event.
Check them out and be sure to add your own.
In an email addressed to members of the Main Street Committee, chairperson Andrea Messier extended her thanks to those who attended and those who helped put the event together.
"As I said this evening, residents and business owners are working together to help Parkville continue to be a great place in which to live, to raise a family, to own a business! I am so happy and proud to be working with each of you," Messier wrote.
About 79 children attended the event and were given gifts by Santa (of the Providence Volunteer Fire Company); the toys left over will be donated to a Baltimore City shelter, Messier wrote.
