PHOTOS: Parkville Senior Center Car Show

The show, sponsored by the Lutherville-based Streetcars of Desire, featured street rods, hot rods and custom cars.

The threat of a Friday night rain storm turned the car show at the into "just a cruise," rather than a judged contest, an organizer said, but that didn't keep visitors from checking out some awesome rides.

Check out photos from the car show in the gallery above.

The show was hosted by the Lutherville-based car enthusiast group Streetcars of Desire.

Think we have a a typo with the 1951 Ford Ranchero - looks to me to be more like a 1971. I think a rain date should be declared, and let these folks re-assemble on a nice afternoon//evening. I for one would like to hear about it in advance; not after the fact. I would really like ato have attended, had I known about it.
My first car was a 1954 Ford sedan. I learned to drive in my father's 1947 stick-shift Buick Roadmaster. Please, can we learn about these events before they happen; not after the fact.

The car show on Friday, August 17 was actually the rain date. The original date for the show was Friday, August 10. It rained that night too. Streetcars of Desire holds this car show every year on the second Friday in August at the same location.

Being held at the PARKVILLE SENIOR CENTER would be a real tip off as to where to learn about these events. This event was advertised over a month previous to the event in the Baltimore County Senior Digest and on the BC senior center webb site. AND my guess would be it was also on the "Streetcars of Desire" site. Tom, why don't you subscribe to the Digest -- it's only $5 a year and belonging to the senior center is FREE!!

Streetcars of Desire will hold the car show at the Parkville Senior Center on Friday, September 21 from 5-10 pm. This is the rain date for the rain date.
