TONIGHT: Free Gun Locks Available At PCRC Meeting

The police-community relations group hosts their first meeting of 2013.

In the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting and the impeding debate over gun safety in state and federal government, one local group is offering a free chance to practice gun safety at home.

Police Community Relations Council 8, a group that acts as a liason between the Parkville police precinct and the communities it serves, will offer free gun locks at a meeting tonight, according to an email from outreach officer Jason Goorevitz.

A guest speaker will also address gun safety.

Up to three locks would be availble per household. The group meets at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, Goorevitz wrote.

A member of the Conflict Resolution Center of Baltimore County will also give a presentation.
