Vintage Parkville-Overlea: Neighborhood, Streetcar Turnaround

Can you guess where in the greater Parkville-Overlea area this photo was taken?

Parts of the neighborhood shown in this vintage photograph are probably still recognizable if you drive through today.

Other parts though, like the streetcar that can be seen in the foreground (lower right), have certainly changed.

This photo, pulled from the Baltimore County Public Library catalog, was taken by Roger Mason back in 1926.

Homer, good thinking. That the photo is of Overlea. I'm pretty sure the bank building still looks the same, but a lot has changed along that streetscape.

Overlea Waiting Station aka Overlea Trolley Shelter where the # 15 streetcar turned around. Currently known as the Overlea Bus Turnaround where the # 15 bus still turns around. Located at the southwest corner of West Overlea Avenue and Belair Road (6800 block) with the Wells Fargo Bank located across the street. History is area was formerly known as Lange's Farm then changed to Overlea.
