Vintage Parkville-Overlea: The Huckster

This photograph, which shows a man who had a huckster's route throughout the east side of Baltimore County, came from the library's legacy collection.

This week we're taking a break from the usual guessing game to highlight a piece of ephemera from Parkville's history.

The man shown in this photo, taken in the 30's, is named Esau M. Gwynn—he owned a chicken farm on Forge Road in Perry Hall, between Gunpowder State Park and what is now I-95.

Gwynn, shown here with Billy White, had a huckster's route that took him through Parkville, Overlea, Perry Hall and Hamilton.
