Walk Score Ranks Pedestrian-friendly Neighborhoods
Some area communities are more walker-friendly than others, according to the website.
According to the website Walk Score, which rates the “walkability” of cities and their neighborhoods, Parkville and Overlea have some very walker-friendly communities.
Among area neighborhoods, Carney scored the best and was called "very walkable" with an 84 out of 100, while Cub Hill scored the lowest ranking as "car dependent" with a score of 23 out of 100.
The website scores communities on a scale from zero to 100. Scores from zero to 24 result in a low ranking because all errands require a car. Scores from 90 to 100 mean daily errands in a neighborhood do not require a car.
