Comedy 101: Lessons in Laughter with Kevin Downey Jr.

Classes forming now for this comprehensive 5-week course, capped on week 6 by an actual show featuring the students.

Learn the art and science of standup comedy!

Whether you're already a comedian and looking to speed up your career or receive honest feedback, a newbie, a public speaker looking for an edge, or someone that just wants to check "do stand-up" off of your bucket list... this class will prepare you for whatever you desire to accomplish.

Each student is promised individual attention and feedback, as well as answers to all questions they may have.

~ Crowd Control -- "Taming the Heckler & Inebriated"
~ Dos & Don'ts
~ Getting Gigs
~ The Business of Comedy -- Guest speakers will cover their different areas of expertise: The Club Owner, The Comedian, and The Booker

Week 6  --  *Graduation Show: Tentatively: Sun., October 28, 2012 at 6:00PM

Tuition: $325 for 6 weeks: 5 weeks of workshops and lecture, followed by a graduation show at Sully's Comedy Cellar during week 6.

*Graduation Show: Students are strongly encouraged to invite friends and family to the graduation show.  
Aside from showcasing their work, it's important to experience performing in front of an audience

Class instructor: New York City comedian Kevin Downey, Jr. has over 20 years experience as a working comic. He headlines all over the world, and has earned quite a few television and radio credits.  He continues to be a part of Armed Services Entertainment, where he travels the globe performing for our troops.  For more about Kevin, scroll to the bottom of this page, or visit his website.

We know people have the best intentions, sign up for classes they can't wait to attend...and then something happens.  That's why we have no problems issuing refunds.  Our policy is that  full refunds can be issued up until the first class begins, Tuesday, September 18, 2012.  After that date, however, we won't be able to issue any refunds; including prorated refunds.
