Parkville Residents Are Featured in Children's Playhouse Production

Set in the 1920s, Christopher Sergel’s script is based on a 1948 book by Frank B. Gilbreth, Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey, two of the 12 children of efficiency specialist Frank Gilbreth, Sr. and his psychologist wife, Lillian.  Both parents attempted to apply industrial efficiency techniques to raising their brood of 12 children. 

The children, of course, had other ideas, wanting the increased freedom of the times. The kids turn their father’s methods and time/motion studies into chaos at every opportunity.  This is a warmhearted story the whole family will enjoy. 

Performances are on the weekends of Oct. 26 and 27, and Nov. 2 and 3 at 1 p.m. in the Administration Building (formerly the J Building) Lecture Hall at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard. 

The final performance will be sign-language interpreted by students in the CCBC Interpreter Preparation Program.  

Tickets are $10 general admission and $8 for birthday parties or scout troops.  Tickets can be ordered online or by calling the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (Tuesday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) Space permitting, tickets will be available at the door.

This Children’s Playhouse production features 15 student actors from Baltimore City and Baltimore and Harford counties. Liz Boyer Hunnicutt directs this production with Connor Moore of Towson appearing as Mr. Gilbreth and Tiffany Flaharty of Bel Air as Mrs. Gilbreth. 

Other featured actors include Sophia Zahner of Essex (Anne), Sarah Altiere of Baltimore (Ernestine), Allison Mudd of Parkville (Martha), Will Foohey of Pikesville (Frank, Jr.), Max Wolf of Parkville (Bill), Carly Dagilis of Owings Mills (Lillian),Connor Applegarth of Timonium (Fred), Wesley Brown of Baltimore (Dan), Sammy Jungwirth of Perry Hall (Jackie). 

In supporting roles, Theo Halligan of Baltimore is Larry, someone special; Kate Lutz of Rosedale is Miss Brill, a teacher; Ely Shilling of Timonium plays cheerleader Joe Scales, and Brad Sweigart of Cockeysville is cast as Dr. Burton.
