Pop Up Art, Summer Concert Series Continue in Parkville

The Parkville Spring Concert Series continues Friday night with blues/funk act The Junkyard Saints.

Friday is set to be sunny with a high of 81 degrees; that alone is a pretty good reason enjoy the evening outdoors; another good reason is the Friday Night Concert Series, put on by the Parkville-Carney Business Professional Association.

Join your neighbors on the Lavender Avenue parking lot in Parkville from 5-8 p.m. for food, beer and live music.

The Junkyard Saints, a blues and funk act, will perform in the penultimate concert Friday night; next week, June 28 brings back series opener, country/blues/rock act The Wretched Outcasts, for the final show.

Across the street, local artists and artisans will have their work for sale at the Pop Up Art store organized by Parkville's Main Street Committee and held inside the former location of the Atlantic Seafood Deli, 7810 Harford Road next to Jerry D's Restaurant.

The shop, a brain child of the Parkville Main Street Committee, will be open from 5-8 p.m., and features the work of Ashley Shaffer, a deaf artist who incorporates American Sign Language into her work, among others.

Will you head out to Parkville Friday night to check out the concert or the art shop? Have you been in previous weeks and found a great piece of art? Tell us in the comments.
