Bel Air Brewery Takes Big Beer on Tour, Stops in Parkville

DuClaw Brewing will bring its highest-alcohol beer to Racer's Cafe as part of a "world tour."

Bel Air-based DuClaw Brewing will take a monster on tour this week, and one of its planned stops is Racer's Cafe in Parkville.

The brewery recently released a new batch of its high-alcohol beer, called Colossus, which measures 21 percent alcohol by volume. To celebrate the tapping of the first kegs, , Arundel Mills and Bowie. 

The brewery wants to make sure that the "highest-alcohol beer brewed in Maryland" makes its rounds to the people, so they decided to take it in on a tour of Maryland's beer bars. Parkville's Racer's Cafe, located at 7732 Harford Road, will tap a keg at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

The beer, described as "sweet and boozy" on the beer geek website BeerAdvocate, has gotten positive user reviews, earning a B+ average rating. Check out the PDF attached to this article for some more information and tasting notes.

"People have been asking me about it all week," said Doug Wall, a bartender at Racer's.  "I think it's promoting itself. People are really psyched."

Colossus will not be part of the Racer's happy hour special that offers three different beers for $6.
