Fullerton Sports Shop Gearing Up for Playoffs

Wild Bill's, on Belair Road, has everything a Ravens fan could need going into Sunday's game at home against the Houston Texans.

With the regular season behind us and the playoffs ahead, merchants around Parkville and Overlea are gearing up for what experts are predicting could be a postseason that brings in millions of dollars.

At Wild Bill's, a Ravens merchandise shop on Belair Road in Fullerton, employee Neal Houk said that Terell Suggs "Ball So Hard University" shirts and Ravens divisional champion sweatshirts and hats have been flying off the shelves.

"We've also got jewelry, clocks, steering wheel covers, flags for cars and outdoors — pretty much everything," Houk said.

Within about 10 minutes on Tuesday afternoon, at least eight eager fans had come through the store to grab up the merchandise.

The Baltimore Business Journal recently reported that according to a source with the Ravens, the franchise would have stood to take in about $250,000 for a road playoff game.

With the playoff game being hosted at M&T Bank stadium, that number could easily quadruple — putting well over $500,000 into the Maryland state coffers; not to mention what retailers will make over the playoff weekend, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.

As for Wild Bill's, they're open every day from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. all season long; and Houk told Patch that that wasn't likely to change.

"We'll be open until the Super Bowl — then, when we win the Super Bowl we'll probably stay open a couple of weeks to take care of the fans needs," he said.

An optimistic outlook from a man wearing a t-shirt that reads "Houston, you've got a problem."

"I think [the Ravens] know the way home — they know the routine," Houk said. Pending the win over the Texans on Sunday, he's hoping that the Denver Broncos can take out the New England Patriots and give the Ravens a shot at playing the AFC championship game at home.

"It would be great to have another playoff game at home," Houk said.

Yes. Yes it would.
