Giant Offers Customers Free Cake To Celebrate 'Birthday'

The grocery store chain turns 77 on Wednesday.

No word yet on whether they'll be offering punch and pie, but Giant Food stores will be offering customers free cake Wednesday to celebrate a milestone in the company's history.

Giant Food, which was founded in 1936 in Washington D.C., celebrates 77 years in business on Feb. 6. They're offering a slice of free birthday cake to customers at all 170 stores from 6-8 p.m. tomorrow.

In Parkville-Overlea Giant Food stores are located at Putty Hill Plaza and in Parkville Shopping Center where the chain opened a store last year.
