HarCo's DuClaw Eyes Move To Rosedale

The Abingdon-based brewery could be fully moved to Baltimore County as soon as next spring, reports say.

Craft beer fans, rejoice.

Long-time Harford County brewers DuClaw Brewing Company are moving to Baltimore County.

Originally, the Abingdon-based brewery was eyeing an expansion to a larger 165,000 square foot space in the Havre de Grace area, but that deal fell through in late July, according to reports in the Baltimore Business Journal.

So now, they plan to move to Rosedale.

DuClaw Brewing Company president Dave Benfield confirmed to Baltimore beer blogger Alexander D. Mitchell  over the weekend that DuClaw had its eye on a space on Yellow Brick Road.

In fact, Benfield told Mitchell, the company is part-way through closing the deal on that space.

“The company expects to make a gradual transition to the new facility from its current Abingdon plant, and hopes to be running at the Rosedale site in spring 2013,” Mitchell wrote on his blog, The Original Beer in Baltimore.

DuClaw Brewing Co. president Dave Benfield could not be reached in time to comment.

Are you a fan of DuClaw beers? Are you glad they'll be moving to Baltimore County? Tell us in the comments.

They're just moving their brewery. The brewpub on 24 will still be there. Are they going to open a pub in Baltimore Co?

D.H., The brewpub on 24 in Bel Air isn't going anywhere — I don't think the article made it seem that way. As for your question, I don't know; but I will be sure to ask when I have a chance to interview DuClaw's president next week.

Where on yellow brick? Unless they're attaching to the hotel at ybr & rte 40, I don't see how that's a good spot...I work on yellow brick, its all warehouse spaces and ybr is a dead end road...not a very traffic heavy area, that intersection is horrible enough as it is
