Whether you're an expert or a novice gamer, a Parkville comics and games shop is hoping you'll stop by to try out some board games Saturday during International Tabletop Gaming Day.

Collectors Corner, 7911 Harford Road, will host the free event from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Mar. 30.

Games scheduled for demostration so far include Magic: the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Smallworld and others, according to an event posting on the shop's Facebook page.

Day and actor Wil Wheaton (Star Trek, The Big Bang Theory), who co-host the weekly online show TableTop, recently recommended a number of modern table top games to the LA Times Hero Complex.

"Gaming is a huge passion of mine, and I’m thrilled to help launch this event that will allow gamers all over the world to celebrate their passions together in real life." said Day in a news release. "The response we’ve received around our show, TableTop, has shown us that tabletop gaming brings people together in a unique and powerful way. We want to celebrate this on a larger scale and give back to our wonderful community."

Collectors Corner owner Randy Myers wrote on Facebook that the store will get a Skype call from the staff at TableTop some time during the day and that participants might have a chance to be part of the show by attending.
