Saturday Is National Coffee Day, Find Yourself a Free Cup

McDonald's stores in the greater Baltimore area will give away free coffee through Saturday, and 7Eleven stores plan to give away the Joe until Friday at 10 a.m.

How much coffee do you drink in a day?

If you're like me, the answer is probably something like "too much". Seriously though, if you drink more than a cup a day getting your caffiene fix can start to get expensive and, in celebration of National Coffee Day this Saturday, a couple of national chains with stores in the area are giving away free java.

Until about 10 a.m. today, some 7Eleven stores in the area are offering a free 20-ounce coffee to customers. The catch? You'll need to download a smartphone app called timeRAZOR.

The app, which focuses on hyperlocal events, will let you know which 7Eleven store closest to your current location has the free joe.

Through Saturday, participating McDonald’s restaurants, including those in the Parkville-Overlea area are offering free small coffees as a thank you to customers.

The company also partnered with Mix 106.5 for a contest where the prize is free coffee for a year—but there's only one day left to find the giant coffee cups and get registered.

Once you find one of the giant cups, ask the manager to fill out an entry form to enter in the contest. Hints as to the cups locations are offered on the Mix 106.5 website.
