Test Driving the Chevy Spark EV Built in White Marsh

Production of the all-electric vehicle, centered in White Marsh, began last week.

White Marsh can be proud to say that it is home to the first and currently only General Motors plant that is producing parts for the all-American made, all-electric car—the Chevrolet Spark EV.

Production began last week, but since Monday is Earth Day, it just felt right to share now. And a familiar face was there to cover the hoopla.

"The General Motors Baltimore Operations plant in White Marsh recently became the first American factory to produce these parts that previously would have been imported from foreign factories," Emily Kimball, senior digital news editor at the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, wrote.

"State, labor and company officials celebrated production, and test drove prototype vehicles, at the plant on Tuesday afternoon," Kimball said.
