The Cheapest Gas in Town

The price of gas has been steadily trending down since May 23 when, in time for the long holiday weekend, prices fell below $4.00 per gallon of regular unleaded. After one week of June, prices have fallen to an average of $3.74 per gallon—a good sign for people at the pumps.

For comparison, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded is down five cents from last week and more than 20 cents from last month, but is up just under 80 cents from its price this time just six months ago.

The average cost to fill a vehicle with a 15-gallon tank has dropped a fraction of a dollar from $56.88 last week to $56.14, still considerably higher than the $44.60 you might have paid just six months ago.

The lowest price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the area is $3.67.
