Area gas prices climbed just over one cent, according to the latest survey by AAA. 

The area average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $3.567, compared to $3.556 last week.

The lowest price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the area is $3.539—slightly below the average.

Six months ago you would have paid a little less to fuel up, at a cost of $3.522 per gallon of regular unleaded; last year you might have paid just $2.592.
