Oak Crest Names Michael Friedel as Director of Continuing Care

PARKVILLE, MD—Oak Crest retirement community announced the promotion of Michael Friedel to the position of Director of Continuing Care.
 
Previously, Mr. Friedel served as the Assisted Living Manager at the Erickson Living community in northeast Baltimore County.
 
He succeeds John Lurz, who was named as a Vice President for Continuing Care for Erickson Living, the manager and developer of Oak Crest.
 
With Oak Crest since 2011, Mr. Friedel brings a wealth of health care administrative experience to his new leadership position.  He has served as a nursing home administrator in Pennsylvania and an executive director of an assisted living facility in Delaware.  He is currently licensed as a nursing home administrator in Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania.
 
The extended care neighborhood at Oak Crest provides assisted living, respite care, post-acute rehabilitation & nursing care and outpatient rehabilitation services to its residents.
 
It holds the coveted Five-Star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and earned a 2012 Committed to Excellence Award from the Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care, Inc.

A resident of Forest Hill, MD, Mr. Friedel is an active volunteer with Echo Church and Caring Hearts Ministries.  He possesses twenty-five years of experience in the culinary industry with Marriott Hotels.
 
Oak Crest also features three independent living neighborhoods with 1,524 residences.
