Going for the Gold

Go for your own personal "Gold"

With all the hoopla surrounding the 2012 Olympic Games in London, we hear a lot about going for the Gold.  It's a great time to be inspired to be the best WE can be as we watch these world-class athletes perform.

What is your personal "Gold" and how will you go for it?  For many Americans struggling from paycheck to paycheck, aspirations for the "Gold" is having a secure financial future.

Like our Olympic athletes, getting to where we want to be requires training, perseverance, patience, hard work and sacrifice.  Training involves increasing your knowledge of personal finance and learning to manage your money.  It's hard work to set up a financial plan - you have to know where your money is going, create a budget that you can live with, and look for ways to save.  There will be times when you stumble in achieving your financial goals, but perseverance will pay off - just pick yourself up and move on.  Reaching your financial goals won't happen overnight so patiently stick to your plan.  Making choices about what to do with your money isn't easy either.  It requires some sacrifice.  You may have to forego things you want in order to achieve your long-term goal.
