Sandy Causes Widespread Outages In Parkville-Overlea

BGE is reporting between 1,372 to 5,275 outages in the Parkville-Overlea area.

It looks like like a hefty percentage of the outages BGE is currently reporting in Baltimore County could be in the Parkville-Overlea area.

According to the outage map on the utility company's website, anywhere between 1,372 and 5,275 homes in the Parkville-Overlea area were without power as of 2:40 p.m.. The company's site also said there were a total of 10,793 customers without power in Baltimore County.

On Facebook, readers are reporting in to let us know which areas still have power and which have lost it.

A reader identified as Betty Frank-Oster said the power flickered on and off near Oakleigh Road and several reports have come in that the Overlea-Fullerton area still has electricity.

Recently, BGE said they could not provide individual estimated restoration times due to the severity of expected power outages. At a press conference, Gov. Martin O'Malley said recently that outages had risen drastically: more than 24,000 are without as of 2:30 p.m.
