Snow Stays North for Most of Region

A La Nina weather pattern predicted to bring snow to much of the northeast this Halloweekend brought a mix of rain, sleet and flakes to Baltimore and Harford counties.

While a winter weather advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Saturday, the inches of snow heralded on Friday haven't shown up around the majority of our region.

Forecasts originally called for 2 to 4 inches of snow to fall and accumulate during the afternoon, but across much of the region it's been just been cold, rainy and windy.

This morning about an inch of snow hit Harford and parts of northern Baltimore counties, as reported by Patch, but the late October snow slowed by about 1 p.m. It has picked back up throughout the area near the Pennsylvania border.

According to the National Weather Service, only an inch of snow is likely for most of the region except, they note, along the Mason-Dixon line where 2–3 inches could accumulate.

By Sunday the weather should improve a great deal, becoming sunny with a high temperature of 47 degrees—if any snow accumulates, it looks like it will mostly melt before the weekend ends.
