Winter Weather Expected Overnight

Schools could be delayed and commutes slowed tomorrow morning due to icy conditions expected to develop overnight

The National Weather Service has put a winter weather advisory into effect beginning at 10 p.m. for Parkville-Overlea and the surrounding areas.  The advisory is owed to a storm that could bring between one and two inches of snow, sleet and ice.

Snow is expected to begin shortly after the advisory goes into effect, and will change over to freezing rain and sleet overnight.

A winer weather advisory means that snow, sleet or ice will cause significant travel difficulties.  If you are going out, you should be extra careful.  The advisory is scheduled to end at noon tomorrow, but the precipitation should stop well before then.

Forecasts from the National Weather Service show that this storm may not be the last winter weather we can expect this week — there is a 50 percent chance of snow on Thursday night and a 40 percent chance of snow on Friday evening.

While you can't be certain about the weather later this week, one thing you can count on is that if schools are delayed or closed tomorrow Patch will have that news for you.
