ANNUAL LITERARY EXTRAVAGANZA TO BE HELD AT THE PRATT FREE LIBRARY

Local writer Rafael Alvarez is holding the Annual Literary Extravaganza at the Southeast Anchor Branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Highlandtown, on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 2 p.m.

This year’s event is a table reading of the play “It Takes Balls,” adapted from a screenplay written by Charley Scalies, the actor/writer best known at “Horseface” in the TV series “The Wire.”

“It Takes Balls” is the story of an Italian mother who takes matters into her own hands on Christmas Eve in a pool hall gambling den.

The event features guest appearances by William G. Matricciani, Michael Olesker, Michele “Wojo” Wojciechowski, Rosalie Scalia, and, of course, the great Charley Scalies.

The event is free and all are welcome.
