Art Appreciation Through Art History

Students will explore many areas of art history through illustrated lectures, slide photographs, DVD’s and discussions. This term will be culminated with a tour of the Walter’s Art Museum.  This term will cover the Late Gothic Period in France & Germany, Northern Renaissance in Germany & the                Netherlands, Mannerism, Boroque works in Flanders, Holland  and Spain. 18th Century English             Painting, 18th Century American Painting.  The main goal of the course is to familiarize students with the individual styles of master artists so they will be better prepared to appreciate and understand what they view at galleries, museums and in art books.   Studio B
